OUR STORY IS JUST GETTING STARTED.
Established in the spring of 2019, The Belong Collective was born out of another church community. One where the majority held a shared vision to provide a safe faith community, centered on the teachings of Jesus for all to engage.
Prior to 2019, we were part of a larger denomination that restricted how those in the LGBTQIA+ community could serve, become included or get married in our church. While our denomination disagreed, we believe that God can and does bless all loving relationships, including those of the same sex. We remained an ally to anyone wanting to learn about Jesus and fully serve their community as they wish. Our congregation happily recognized the marital status of non- heterosexual couples who would attend. After a year of working with our denomination and discovering that they would not be making any room for our friends of diverse genders and sexualities, we moved on.
So, here we are. No matter your age, ability, sexual orientation, race, creed or gender – You Belong!
Our hope is that our story continues to evolve through a diverse gathering of people from different communities. As part of our mission, we seek to collaborate with caring organizations and causes to share in and extend the radical love of Jesus – no matter our backgrounds or differences.
